Grand Annual Letter
Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. John’s:
Through the grace of God, and your prayers and support, our beautiful spiritual worship home of St. John the Evangelist Cambridge/Somerville remains a healthy and vibrant community. Over the past year our parish ministries, events, and programs have continued to grow and inspire as St. John’s consistently welcomes new members and guests.
The generosity of those who remember St. John’s in their estates, as well as prudent use of funds, cannot alone support our parish and its yearly operations, not to mention any extraordinary expenses (*see below) that are part of maintaining a century-old building. One of the ways you can help directly is through our 2012 Grand Annual Collection on October 28 th . I am asking for a contribution of $225.00 from every working person or a gift of $275.00 per household. For the many on a fixed income an offering of your own choice would be appreciated. Parishioners may also choose to make their contributions in installments into the New Year 2013. All contributions are tax deductible and your cancelled check is your receipt.
On the back of this letter is the Yearly Parish Financial Statement from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012 for your review. You are most appreciated in your support of our weekly Offertory, Special Collections for the Parish, and our Capital Improvement donations. Please note that the receipts from our Holiday Fair and Turkey Shoot were deposited into the Fundraiser account. The Finance Committee: Steve Kerwin, Parish Business Manager, Charlie Keefe, John and Maureen Kent, Michael Bennett, Chuck Mountain and I prepared this report. For details you may call Steve at St. John’s 617-547-4880 ext.14.
The Finance Members and I thank you in advance for your generosity to the parish in sharing your time, talent, and treasure. Please continue to pray for St. John’s, a “touchstone for generations since 1893 and a faith community from which great things happen.”
May God’s blessings and love be with you and yours.
Fr. Charles E. Collins, Pastor
